Forewarned; the Scare of Bleeding with Aspirin

Several studies have concluded that aspirin can help to ward off a second heart attack or stroke in patients who have already had one. Millions of Britons are believed to take a daily dose of the medication to act as an insurance against health problems.

But after carrying out a review of research, Dr. Ike Iheanacho said in a medical journal editorial that people with no signs of cardio vascular disease (CVD) should not use the drug as a preventative measure because of the risk of internal blee… Continue

Tuition forgiveness in exchange for employment commitment after graduation

A 40, 000 tuition for BSN degree I am 'ooling for a sponsor for $40,000 tuition. In return with commitment to work for the hospital after graduation. I know some hospitals offer such programmes, but cannot locate any in the State of Wisconsin or Illinios.. I located few in Florida and Missisippi and Moussori. Students that are in those states have the chance to enroll in the programme and you have to be in schools in which they affillated with. Any help to resolve this issue will be highl… Continue

How to Find the Nursing School or Program that’s Right for You

Today is probably the best of times to have decided to become a nurse. Nurses are extremely in demand (the United States Health Resources and Services Administration projects a shortage of 213,000 nurses as early as next year, 2010) and the challenge and satisfaction nurses receive in their profession also is high.

It also doesn’t hurt that a career as a nurse is pretty much recession proof. Compensation also is nothing to sneeze at: registered nurses with just three years of experience can exp… Continue

Health Care Reform....

We continue to wait for the much argued over, debated, fought for, and no doubt still un-acomplished HealthCare Reform Bill. In the meantime, countless American are without much needed care. It is just so very appauling, that so many other nations are able to come up with a way of caring for their medically in need citezens, and yet, America is still lagging behind in that respect.

So many of us are left wondering, if this will ever be a reality, since those in charge of bringing changes, conti… Continue

The endless job hunt

I have recently graduated and have my license as an LPN. I have searched far and wide and still can not get a job. I have had only one interview and with no luck. You think after all the hard work you have put into school that when you graduate you will get a job right after. If I would have known that it was going to be this hard I might have changed my degree. It is really starting to get depressing and discouraging. I feel like that I would make a great nurse but noone will give me that chanc… Continue

11 Ways to Pay for Nursing School

If you earn a bachelor’s degree, you can expect that your lifetime earnings to be one million dollars more than someone who hold a high school diploma or GED. Whether you attend college part-time or full-time, at a two-year or four-year degree program, or even at a short-term certificate program, you will need to figure out how to pay for your nursing education.

Climbing mountains to get to the valley of RN

I've wanted to be a nurse since the day my mother dropped me off at a long-term care facility when I was 15 and told me "this will be good for you, and they need the help". I spent my day conversing with some of the most interesting and kind people I've ever met, the residents. I bonded with a lady who had little family and hardly any visits from them in the past 3 years she has been living in the facility. I kept in touch with her after I was done "helping". I decided I wanted to be a nurse. If… Continue
